Vacation

Jonny and I (Heather or Mom) are in Colorado right now visiting both sets of grandparents. We're having a great time! It's all fun and games and lots of spoiling of the grandchild. I'm getting a much needed break and Jonny is getting a lot of attention. I am almost afraid of what it's going to be like when we get home. Don't get me wrong we really miss daddy, but when we get home there's only me and I wonder if that will be enough after three and a half weeks of being spoiled?
Anyway, we love it out here and Jonny is progressing immensely. He learns a new word almost daily and I see how smart he really is. He can already say two Chinese words, dig and push (sorry I don't know how to spell them in Chinese). We only have a week and a half to go and still loving every minute of it! We'll see you soon daddy, we love you!!!! (:

What was he thinking?

So last night Jonny did the funniest thing. He was playing in the front room with his sand bucket and shovel and out of nowhere he decides to put the bucket on his head. Now just as I was thinking to myself 'don't do it', he did it. He ran full speed ahead with the bucket on his head and run straight into our bookcase. He flew backward as the bucket flew off his head and landed on the ground. Jeff had looked over just in time to see him smack into the bookcase and asked "Did he just do what I think he did?" And with both of us trying to conceal our laughter I responded yes as I scooped our sobbing little boy into my arms. Jonny of course is just fine, he only cried for a few seconds but he will never live down the time he ran with a bucket on his head. Kids really do do the darnedest things! I wonder what is going through his head at times like these? So that is the poll of the day. What was he thinking? I would love to here your comments.

No Longer a Little Boy

Jonny is growing up so fast right before my eyes. He can almost dress himself and he definatly has no problem undressing himself. He loves to imitate everything you do. I was putting lotion on on Sunday and he watched for a minute then came up and started rubbing the lotion in on my leg. It was so cute, all he wanted to do was help. Now every time he sees the lotion bottle on his dresser during diaper changes he likes to put lotion on his hand and rub them together. Jonny loves talking on the phone, it doesn't matter who you are. He runs everywhere and still climbs everything. Jonny can now go to sleep at night without Jeff or I holding or rocking him to sleep. That's a life saver. Bed time is no longer a stressful time.
Jeff and I are still doing well. I'm going home, to Colorado, for a while this month to visit and help out family. I hope I can handle Jonny by my self on the plane! He's just so full of energy. I'm sure my parents are laughing it up . I guess the saying is true: grandchildren are a parents revenge. Because I know I was a handful growing up. It doesn't matter because I wouldn't trade motherhood for anything in the world!!!

Growing Up

Jonny is getting so big now. He's doing new things every day. His vocabulary is also growing daily. He now says Thank You when you give him things and said I Love You the other day. I haven't been able to get him to say it since then though. He loves to talk on the phone, in fact whenever he's in mine and Jeff's room he always goes to the phone and picks it up especially if it rings. His climbing skills have gotten so good, that he can now climb the ladders and stuff to get to the second level of the playground. He also loves to dance and he understands the different rhythms of songs, because he has a different dance for each. He makes me laugh every day and always reminds me how lucky Jeff and I are to have him!
Jeff is doing well with his work. He still loves his job. His hobbies still include WOW (World of WarCraft) and. . . . . He got to go surfing recently while he was on break. One of his friends lent him his surf boards and wet suit for the week. Jeff had a blast on the days there were actually waves. We really love it out here and will be very sad when it comes time to leave but very happy to be close to family and friends again.
I haven't been doing much. Just my everyday routine of walks, chores, and taking care of Jonny. Life is good! I had an appointment with my back surgeon recently and he told me that more children could defiantly be part of my future. I have my last (maybe) physical therapy appointment on Monday. My back is much stronger now and I know what I have to do to keep it that way. It's so nice to be almost pain free!
This is the slide show I promised a while ago of Jonny growing up, sorry it took so long.

The Monkey House

Our little monkey Jonny is quite a handful. He loves to run and play and climb everything in sight. He has learned to climb out of his crib and we have since changed it to a daybed. He climbs into the rocking chair in his room and loves to rock himself. He climbs into the computer chair and plays with the computer stuff just like daddy. I would have to say that my favorite thing he does is when he picks up the AC adapter to Jeff's laptop and talks into it as if it were a phone. It's so cute!

He certainly keeps himself busy all day long, and I stay busy by chasing after him. My favorite time of day is nap time; because it's the only time when I get to hold him close and take in those few precious quiet moments and I realize just how lucky I am to have him.

Welcome

Hello, and welcome to the Lambert Zoo. This blog has been created to keep our friends and family updated on our family happenings.

Let me start by giving you a tour around the zoo. We start by the entrance at the Lions Den. Our Lions Den houses the resident male named Jeffrey. He is strong, territorial and loves raw flesh. On a more serious note, Jeff is 25 and is currently a member of the US Army. He loves to play games (especially World of WarCraft), spend time with his wife and son, and likes playing sports outdoors.

Moving on to the Tiger exhibit where we have the privilege of housing the rare Withe Tiger named Heather. She is exotic, beautiful, and very nurturing towards her young. In reality Heather is 25 and finishing her degree in MFHD so she may pursue a career as a Marriage and Family counselor. She loves playing with her husband and son, talking to her friends, and blogging.

Our last stop will be The Monkey House. This is where the newest addition Jonny stays. He loves to climb on every thing he sees. In all actuality this animal description is not that far from the truth. Jonny is fifteen months old and really does love climbing on everything. We have recently had to change his crib into the daybed function because he learned how to climb out of his crib. Jonny's favorite past times are playing with mom and dad, playing with his toys, and playing on the playground.
